Current Projects

We are working on a number of exciting restoration projects at the moment.  I
will keep this site updated with new projects and before & after pictures.
Check back often to see real ecosystem restoration in virtual mode.

We are working closely with Park Ranger Randy Whitworth at
Henry Horton
State Park
to restore approximately 20 acres of native grasses and
wildflowers.  We started last spring on one 10 acre site and with Randy's great
management skills the site already has blooming grasses and flowers and is
ready for its first controlled burn this spring.  That's a whole year ahead of
schedule!  We have started site preparation on additional sites at the golf
course and the skeet range.

Jane Polansky, Manager of the
Harpeth River State Park has
enthusiastically enlisted us to begin a number of restoration projects along the
banks of the beautiful Harpeth River.  Watch for native wildflower meadows
and native trees and shrubs popping up all over this wonderful riparian
preserve!

An absolute jewel of biodiversity in Northwest Davidson County is the brand
new 1,500 acre
Beaman Park.  We are enjoying every moment working with
Nancy Dorman and the Friends of Beaman Park in restoring and maintaining
the park's incredible native diversity.  We have collected seeds from on-site
populations of the endangered Eggert's sunflower for propagation and
planting at the park.  Now that's conservation!

The grand opening celebration at
Historic Fort Negley was a great success.
President Lincoln even personally thanked Andy Sudbrock for his work in
restoring native grasses at the Union fort.  In association with
Metro Parks
and Carol Ashworth of Ashworth Environmental Design we are creating a
contemplative landscape using native grasses that will add to a visitors
experience of the history of this important Nashville site.
